WEEKLY CLASS UPDATE

WEEK SIX CLASS UPDATE

If you feel inspired after last night's ornithology class, these are just a few VHAT opportunities:

Week Five leftovers

I've attached Lisa's iNaturalist handout. It includes a class list of iNat usernames and some QR codes to lead you to helpful info. Make sure to check it out.

I've added links and info from Sam's presentation onto the Resources page of the class website. Just scroll down to "Week Five extras". (The linked PPT does not include the videos. He is going to send me an updated file with all of the content embedded. 🙂 I'll add it when I get it.)

Sam mentioned cats as the number one predator of birds. Check out ED Burke's Deep Dive on that very topic.

Time to Restore volunteer hours should be logged as:

Opportunity: BPTMN: Bird/Wildlife/Insect/Plant or other Surveys

Description: Time to Restore Observations and Data Collection, list location, and a brief description of service performed

Week Six: Mar 6 - 12

Pre-Work:

Get ready for next week's botany class by completing the pre-work prior to class. Bring your lighted loupe to class.

John Bunker Sands Wetlands Center Field Trip:

The tour will start promptly at 9am. Please plan to arrive by 8:45am to park and walk in.

Make sure to follow the instructions provided by JBS. GPS will take you to the wrong gate!

If your plans change by Friday night, please update the SUG. Don't know how? Read here.

If your plans change on Saturday morning, text me at 214-725-2309.

Chapter Meeting:

The March 11th chapter meeting sounds really interesting. Brent Franklin will be talking about damselflies and dragonflies.

You can get 1 hour of AT by attending in-person or online via Zoom.

If you plan to get VH by helping set up for the meeting, remember that we start set-up at 5:00pm.

See you next week,

Nancy
