WEEK 0: Getting Ready
Hello, Class of 2024!
Well, we’re in the final countdown now! Since each class week will culminate with the Class meeting on Wednesday evening, our weeks run from the Thursday before class to the Wednesday of class. That means Week One class begins next Thursday, so we’ll call this Week 0.
WEEK 0: Thursday, Jan. 25– Wednesday, Jan. 31
See To Do List for this Week below.
Sign up for Zoom Training Sessions
WEEK 1: Thursday, Feb. 1 – Wednesday, Feb. 7
Thursday, Feb. 1: receive assignments for pre-work for Week 1, to be completed before class on Wednesday.
Meet and Greet: Sunday, Feb. 4, 2:00 – 4:00 PM
FIRST CLASS: Feb. 7, 6:00 – 9:00 PM
Here are the tasks you should have completed:
You should have completed the application to become a volunteer at the Heard. (Instructions were in the Jan. 4 email. See copy here.)
You should have sent your picture and short bio to Vicki bnvsanders1993@gmail.com or to your guide. These are almost all turned in, but if you haven’t done this, now is the time! We don’t want anyone to be missing from our Class Yearbook!
You should have signed up for an iNaturalist account and sent your username to Arica, pontiac070404@yahoo.com If you haven’t already done this, please do it ASAP! She’ll be chasing down any stragglers soon!
You should have linked your current email address to a google account, if necessary. See instructions HERE on how to do this.
If you haven’t completed any of these, they are officially overdue, so now is the time to get caught up!
To Do for This Week:
You will receive an invitation today to view the class website: www.BPTMNclass.net Please make sure you can access this without any problem, as this will be where you’ll find the information you need every week. Only a few parts of the website are live this week. We just want to you to make sure you can access it without problems. It is not a public site, so you will have to be logged in to a google account to access it. If you are having problems, make sure you are logged in to your Google account, and if that doesn’t help, try using a different browser. If that still fails, let me know and we’ll troubleshoot together. Be sure to tell me the email address you are using to try to access it, so I can make sure it’s the same one I used.
Join the BPTMN Class of 2024 on EdPuzzle. This is the site we use to host our video lessons, so you’ll be using it every week throughout the class. Here are a couple of ways to join:
Click this link: Join EdPuzzle Class to join the BPTMN Class of 2024 classroom on Edpuzzle. The link will take you directly to our class on EdPuzzle, where you can sign in with Google, or create an account to join the class.
If you have trouble, see the attached sheet for detailed instructions on setting up an EdPuzzle account and joining our classroom.
On EdPuzzle, you will have an assigned video to watch. It’s a short video about the Texas Master Naturalist program.
Review the Member-in-Training Handbook (attached.) You will receive a printed copy at the Feb. 4 Meet and Greet, but in the meantime, this will give you an idea of what to expect.
Have a wonderful week, everyone! Can’t wait to see everybody in the Class yearbook!
Cheers,
Lisa
